This Article is about the Fluke-930 and accessories.

The Fluke-930 shares it's manual with the Fluke-931 and can confuse customers thinking the Fluke-930 is compatible with the external adapters.

The Fluke-930 is limited to non-contact applications and not compatible with any of the accessory items the work with the Fluke-931

The Fluke-931 can perform non-contact measurements as well as contact measurements.

The manual states the following:

The Fluke 930 Tachometer and the Fluke 931 Tachometer (the Tachometer) are
hand-held instruments that accurately measure rotational Revolutions Per Minute
(RPM). The Fluke 931 measures surface speed as well as length. Use the red
beam function to make non-contact RPM measurements. The Fluke 931 uses the
mechanical adapter and selectable tip to make contact RPM measurements. The
Memory function allows storing the maximum (MAX), minimum (MIN), average
(AV), and last reading. The Fluke-930 is non-contact only and does not perform contact measurements.
