How can I update or upgrade the firmware in the Fluke 1770 Power Quality Analyzer?
Answer:
In order to update or upgrade the firmware of Fluke 1770 Power quality analyzer one has two options:
- Update/upgrade using USB drive
- Update / upgrade through Energy analyze Plus software
Both options will be discussed but before you start Pay attention to this checklist:
- During update or upgrade process, all data that is stored on the instrument will be lost.
- Settings like language, phase colors time zone, date and time format but also nominal voltage and frequency will be reset to factory defaults.
- Make sure the instrument is connected to the mains during the update process
- Download the firmware file from the Fluke website: https://www.fluke.com/en-us/support/software-downloads
Update using USB drive:
- USB should be formatted with FAT, FAT32 or exFAT file system
- Create a new folder on the drive called: Fluke177x
- Copy the update file *.bin to this folder
- switch on the analyzer and power it from the mains
- Plug in the USB drive and follow the instructions
Update through Fluke Energy analyze software:
- download the *bin file to a PC
- Click on <17xx setup> in menu bar, Instrument Setup interface appears.
- Connect the Fluke 1770 power quality analyzer to the PC
- start Fluke Energy Analyze Plus Software
- Step 1 Click <Update>
- Step 2.Click <Direct>
- Step 3.
- Click <OK>
- The analyzer returns to Set up mode once update is completed.
