The purpose of this article is to explain why all Fluke multimeters do not respond the same in the resistance mode.
Ideally when using a multimeter for resistance measurements it will be related to measuring resistors if that is the case all Fluke multimeters will respond the same.
We use a DC technique for measuring resistance for all of the Fluke multimeters, but all of them do not source the same voltage and current level so when you try to measure resistance outside resistor components applications you can get different results.
Below are a couple of examples showing the section of the manual for the 28-II, 80 Series V and the 170 Series to show different sourcing voltage and current levels when measuring resistance.
