The purpose of this article is to list the four possible problems you may experience when registering licenses for the Fluke-1732, Fluke-1734, Fluke-1736 and Fluke-1738. This article will show details of the second article entering the wrong model number. The three other problems are in different articles.
- Entered in the wrong serial number when registering.
- Entered the wrong model when registering.
- Customer saved the file and changed the original name or the extension is not just .txt at the end.
- Unit already had the license they are trying to install.
Once you submit the registration page you will get a email and the attached text file should show the correct model and serial number in the file name, if not you will have to submit another registration and make sure the serial number and model number are correct.
Make sure you created a folder in the USB stick named Fluke173x and placed the file you received via email into that folder before inserting the USB stick into the meter.
Example of entering the wrong model number when registering:
When registering or entering a license key you want to make sure the model number being entered into the Fluke registration page is correct. To receive the proper key to enable a feature. Below is an example of entering the wrong model number but the correct serial number, the correct model number should of been Fluke-1736. If the wrong model number was indeed entered simply re-register the tool on the website with the correct model number and serial number to receive the proper key.
Below is the file you will get and notice the model number is Fluke1738, once you fill out the registration form again with the proper model number the file will show Fluke1736.
It is possible the serial number is damaged, or the label is missing. For the 173X products the serial number can be found in the menu of the tool. Start by selecting the Memory/Settings button then follow the navigation steps.
