The purpose of this article is to verify the USB driver has installed automatically for the Fluke-434-II, Fluke-435-II, Fluke-437-II and Fluke-438-II.

1. Turn on Fluke instrument by pushing green button.
2. Attach USB cable to Fluke instrument and the other end to a 2.0 USB port on PC. If you have a 3.0 USB port and try to use it the Fluke instrument it may or may not work correctly. If you are trying to upgrade the firmware using a 3.0 USB port it could locked up the Fluke instrument and you will have to send it into the Fluke service center for repair.
Here is a picture of a 2.0 USB port and 3.0 USB port.

3. Verify if USB driver has installed by using the computers Device Manager.

4. Once in the Device Manager if the driver has installed completely the Fluke instrument will should show up in two locations Universal Serial Ports and Ports (Com & LTP) directories. Note if you are doing a firmware upgrade the Com port assignment number in the Ports directory will be used later during the firmware upgrade. See picture as an example. If the Driver did not install you will have to install it manually so be patient as the automatic install can take up to 10 minutes. If it does not install automatically refer to "How to install 434-II, Fluke-435-II, Fluke-437-II and Fluke-438-II USB driver".
