The purpose of this article is to review the Fluke-1770 Series and Energy Analyze Plus Software Harmonic data related to reviewing 10 minute and 3 second time resolution.

In the setup of the Fluke-1770 Series the default interval time for Harmonics is 10 minutes but you can also choose the additional 3 second time interval.

Below are some screen shots of the Fluke-1770 Series on how to add the 3 second time interval for Harmonic measurements.

On the Home screen tap on the PQ Logger choice.

Next tap on the Session Setting and the tap on the Harmonics: 10 min.

Next tap on the Store 3 s Harmonics to put a check mark in the box and then tap on Done.

Below are some examples of reviewing a file from the Fluke-1770 Series.

The Energy Analyze Plus Software has five tabs at the top of the window.

The tabs consist of Project Manager, Energy Study, PQ+ Study, Advanced and Report.

We are going to investigate the PQ+ Study tab to review either the 10-minute resolution Harmonic data or 3 second resolution Harmonic data.

The screen below is showing the 10-minute resolution data in the form of a bar graph for the Fundamental percentage, THD through the 50th Harmonic.

See red boxes around the PQ+ Study tab, %Fundamental, Voltage and Voltage % of Fundamental [%]. The THD results are around 1% of the fundamental.

If you click on the blue box with a + symbol it opens a graph feature showing the 10-minute samples over time.

In order to see the 3 second Harmonic data the Fluke-1770 tool needs to be programmed to add that feature in the Setup.

Below is a screen shot of the Project Manager showing if the technician selected the 3 second Harmonic feature.

Below is a screen shot of the 3 second bar graph data. On the right-hand side of the window, you click on the drop-down arrow to select the Voltage 3s.
