Solution for Installing Datapaq Software
The solution listed below is for after the application has been successfully installed.To be able to successfully install the application, you will need to manually set your default printer to “Print to PDF”, install the application, then change back to letting Windows manage the default printer.
1. Turn-off Allow Windows to manage Default printer
2. Set Default printer to ‘Print to PDF’
3. Install application
4. Set printer back to previous default printer
5. Turn-on Allow Windows to manage Default printer
Solution for Datapaq Software not Properly Opening
For the issue where the application will not display on screen after attempting to start it, we have a solution that is backwards compatible for v9.65 and below. Although we highly recommend that the minimum version for a Windows 11 PC be v9.50, this will also work with the versions v8.501 to v9.001. Going forward with the next release of the software, the solution will be built into the application.The issue is due to a change in the way that Microsoft handles interfacing with printer drivers. The change occurred in an update from Microsoft dated in June of 2026 affecting versions 24H2 and up. This change caused a third-party module to stall when loading if certain networked printers were set as the default printer. Fluke is unable to affect how Microsoft changes things as well as for the third-party module. So, we have developed a workaround solution that temporarily sets the default printer on the PC to ‘Print to PDF’, loads the application, then sets the default printer back to the original default.
The link below is a Launcher program that does the described solution. Place the InsightLauncher in the application folder for the Datapaq software and create a Shortcut to the launcher. Then use the shortcut to open the application instead of the regular one for the application.
This is a shared folder containing the InsightLauncher.exe as well as InsightLauncherReadMe.pdf containing the instructions. We are unable to email InsightLauncher.exe as most email servers will filter out any .exe attachments.
