Question: How do I download from a 1735 or update its FirmWare.
Answer: Locate installed FirmWare to determine PowerLog version required.
The 1735 tests the communication port during power-up, if it detects a PC already connected it enters the "Firmware Update" mode.
To download data to Power Log software please ensure the meter has completed its power-up before connecting to the PC.
Does your unit have a USB port or an RS 232 port ?
For RS232 cable, set Power Log to the port you have connected to : typically com 1 (or com 2).
“Com 1” and “Com 2” are reserved for physical RS232 ports.
Are you using an RS232 - USB converter, please ensure you have a Windows 10 driver for the converter.
The Converter previously supplied by Fluke (in 2006) used drivers from ”Prolific” that do not support 64 bit systems (Windows 8 - 10)...

For 1735 with USB, check that windows recognises the 1735 : in device manager the 1735 should appear in the "Ports" section as a virtual com port, somewhere in the range "com 3" to "com 8". If it appears elsewhere in device manager, the drivers may not be installed correctly. Right click the item in device manager and let windows find the driver online.
Please check the firmware version in the instrument, this will display (briefly) on the screen during power up and can be seen in the setup menu.
Power Log v4.4 (”classic”) is compatible with firmware 1.10, if your instrument has older firmware, please uninstall Power Log v4.x and try these two older versions (in order of the version number)....

Once you have downloaded your data, please consider updating the firmware to v1.10. Firmware updates will erase any recoding in memory.
